I love sharing an incredible story.

If you know where to look, they are all around you.

Maybe it’s a casual mention in a meeting that piques my interest or a brief chat with a colleague - inspiration is found anywhere. These stories are the currency organizations use to build reputations and demonstrate community impact. It’s through this vast experience in storytelling I secure earned media, grow social media channels, motivate donors, execute live events (pre-COVID, of course) and a whole lot more.

My 19 years of work experience includes serving as a chief operating officer, interim CEO, communications director, senior leader and journalist. My expertise includes team leadership, coaching and confidence building, leading through transition, change management, public relations, media relations, internal/external communications, media and spokesperson training. I hold certifications of FEMA Public Information Officer Awareness, serve as a member of the Red Cross Advanced Public Affairs Team and as a national spokesperson for the organization.

As TV journalist, I spent more than a decade in the industry covering everything from local headlines to large national breaking stories. My reports covered severe weather, search and rescue operations, American Idol in L.A., the Little League World Series and many more. I’ve appeared multiple times on CNN, FOX News, CBS This Morning, The Weather Channel, and dozens of local TV stations across the country, detailing national breaking stories unfolding while on assignment.

As a husband and father to two young boys, my family is my bedrock. The birth of my first son was the catalyst for starting a successful fatherhood blog, becoming a contributor to Disney and writing for various other publications. There was no shortage of stories to share.

I’m purpose driven and mission focused. Giving back to my community is a part of who I am. I've volunteered with several local nonprofits and serve on two boards. I also have emceed and hosted numerous annual fundraisers, galas, and events.

As a longtime Oregonian and a graduate of the Edward R. Murrow School of Communication at Washington State University, I have deep roots and a passion for the northwest, the Timbers and IPAs.
